Horacio Martinetto

Horacio Martinetto es bioquímico de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). Posee un doctorado de la UBA en el área de Química Biológica. Posteriormente realizó un post-doctorado en la Universidad de California San Diego (UCSD) becado por el Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) y por el Fogarty International Center-NIH. A su regreso al país fue nombrado investigador adjunto del CONICET  estudiando mecanismos moleculares de transducción de señales. Paralelamente fue asesor del Departamento de Neuropatología de FLENI, donde organizó el laboratorio de Biología Molecular. Actualmente es jefe del Laboratorio de Biología Molecular, Departamento de Neuropatología y Biología Molecular (FLENI) donde se especializa en la biología molecular de tumores cerebrales.

Horacio Martinetto is a biochemist from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA, Argentina). He holds a PhD from UBA in Biological Chemistry. Later, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) supported by fellowships from the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) and the Fogarty International Center-NIH. Upon returning to Argentina he joined CONICET as researcher, studying molecular mechanisms of signal transduction. In parallel, he was advisor in the Neuropathology Department of FLENI, where he organized the molecular biology laboratory. He is currently head of the Molecular Biology Laboratory of the Neuropathology and Molecular Biology Department of FLENI, where he specializes in brain tumor molecular biology.
